Participation in the Sacrament
The Lord's Supper is celebrated in this congregation according to the words of Christ who truly gives, and we truly receive, His body and blood: "Take, eat; this is my body given for you." "Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins" (Matthew 26:26ff, Luke 22:19ff). The apostle Paul also says the cup of blessing that we bless is a "participation in the body of Christ," and, "because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread" (1 Corinthians 10:16ff).
Our Lord invited to His table all those who are clothed with Christ in baptism (Matthew 22:11ff, Galatians 3:27) and who trust in His words. If you are not reconciled with your brothers and sisters in Christ or you have sin which is willfully un-confessed...first, be reconciled to God and your brother, and then partake. As Christ says, "leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift" (Matthew 5:23ff, 6:15).
If you are not a member of this congregation and wish to receive the Sacrament, we ask that you speak with the Pastor before the service.
